A duchy of Galania is one of six constituent political entities that shares its sovereignty with the kingdom's federated monarchy. Galanian's swear loyalty to both the Kingdom and their resident duchy.
Duchies are divided into baronies, which may be assigned some local governmental authority but are not sovereign. Barony and equivalent structures vary widely by duchy.
