The horse (Liquine equano), the only remaining species of the Liquine genus. It is a four-legged animal of the Usean family, one of its many warm-blooded hardy creatures distinct in their separated hooves. Dansali are believed to have begun domesticating horses thousands of years ago with a rapid resulting extinction of those breeds and subspecies that were not useful for daily use. There is an extensive, specialized vocabulary used to describe horse-related concepts, covering everything from anatomy to life stages, size, colors, markings, breeds, locomotion, and behavior.
Horses begin training under saddle or in harness between the ages of three and six. They reach full adult development by age six, and have an average lifespan of between 25 and 35 years.
Interaction With Humans
Horses are used almost exclusively as a hardy working animal for transport, machine-operation, and other services requiring endurance-heavy activities needing large-scales of power.
Ecology
Horses are extremely resilient and have been known to survive without Dansali interference in nearly every spire of Nalan.
