There are two well-known time periods used by most of Nalan: Before Rebirth (BR) and After Enlightenment (AE).
Before Rebirth
Spanning a period of approximately 6000 years, historians consider this to be the earliest known history that can be confirmed as an age of true knowledge and understanding. Earlier than the BR period is thought to have been an era of brutality and wickedness.
After Enlightenment
Though somewhat contested, this is the period designated by Galanian scholars as the birth of Eli, original founder of Galan and the later Galanian Kingdom.
